What's been happening the last few weeks

First, Gracie lost her tooth. After almost a week of wiggling and then flopping around, it finally fell out at school. The tooth was put into a little box (shaped like a tooth) but unfortunately, it wasnt long before the little ones got to it (dont know if it was Tyler or Bela) and the lost tooth became a "lost" tooth.

As for the house - the workers are still working. We ended up buying a new welding machine as the little one gave up. I know it doesnt look that pretty, but for the part of the fence by the garage, i had them add additional grills with pointy tips so that no one can climb onto the roof so easily.

Here is the finished gate on the far side of the lot. The part furthest away is the pedestrian gate inside the big gate. Its been painted black to match the rest of the grillssince there was leftover black paint and the workers had no more work
i decided to let them go ahead and paint all the welded wire too. Dennis is
shown here using the roller brush.

the service gate in the back is also done (and also painted black) and they have
poured the path from the service gate to the kitchen door. I am thinking to plant
grass or herbs back here - especially since its by the kitchen.

they finished the canal along the back wall (at least behind the main house) - so
if rain comes through from the hillside on the other side of the wall, it will not
approach the house.

Juan did the finish on the outside wall aready. doesnt have the "anay finish" like
the walls of the house but it does have the grooves in it. The spikes on top seemed
like a good idea at first, but i am having them remove them today and replace
with the welded wire to match the rest of the walls in the back. The spikes
still dont seem safe enough - there's still "stepping space" on the top of the wall
on either side of the spikes. If i have him put the welded wire, i think it will be less penetratable.

there was leftover materials so i had Dennis weld a small covering over the front pedestrian gate. it is steel, just looks wierd because of the primer. once its ainted black im sure it will look nice.

I would excitedly tell you that we have a working doorbell now too (button is
attached to the pedestrian gate, the bell rings inside and is wireless) . . .except that yesterday for some unexplainable reason it stopped working. thought it was the
batteries but its not. Back to the hardware store . . .

This is where Juan's house used to be. Kind of wierd. The very day they moved out
they dismantled it and sold all the materials. the next morning. the missionary who
picks up JulieAnn for school drove up and nearly had a heart attack when she saw
their home was completely gone! They found another home made of all hollow blocks walking distance from Julie Anns school. It rents for P1000/month.

Before Juan stopped working he finshed the planter box. I had mang dodo plant
the following flowers in them. He and Dennis are still working these days.

I found another Calachuchi plant for P150. the red flower here on the right. Its
taller than the dwarf white one you bought (was it white? cause it had no flowers yet)

We planted some small flowering plants (called dwarf Santan) around the landing by
the front pedestrian gate.

I also bought a few more plants for inside :)

I took Tyler and Bela to a skin doctor. Tyler had a whole bunch
of bumps (they are like warts) removed -- and here are some of his battle
cars to show for it.

Bela has mamaso - or impetigo on her legs. shes on antibiotics and its
getting better quickly.

Last, we just hired a new helper! She is 18 and so far (she's been with us 1 day) she seems great. Bela and Tyler took to her right away. Her name is Pherlyn but goes
by Bim. She lives in Antipolo and is a relative of another helper working at the condos.
I have another helper coming from the province this weekend - so we will have two.
the 2nd one is from Cagayan Province and is an Agta girl. She is also 18 years old.
Hopefully they will like each other and get along nicely.
